What makes the Poetry Fox special?
As the Poetry Fox himself says, he bangs out custom, on-demand poems on a vintage typewriter. And he happens to be a giant fox.
As Poetry Fox, Chris Vitiello dons a giant Fox costume, grabs one of his many vintage typewriters, and bangs out poems for people. Simply give Poetry Fox a word, and he'll write a custom poem for you. Since its start at a Durham arts night gathering, Poetry Fox has written over 50,000 poems.
There's something quietly beautiful and quirky about giving a giant fox a single word and walking away with a unique bit of art that you can treasure forever.
Where can I find the Poetry Fox?
The Poetry Fox doesn't have a storefront, but you'll likely find him by visiting local festivals and art events around Durham and the Triangle. As Durham's Poet Laureate, Poetry Fox shows up at Durham events such as the Durham Holiday Tree Lighting. If you're an NC State fan, you'll catch Poetry Fox at events like Packapalooza and Shack-a-Thon.
